parkrun #173

Autumn has arrived and our tourists continue to join us each Saturday in front of the Chateau. We welcomed English and South African tourists and also new French locals from Pierre de Bresse. Our former director of footing, Julien achieved another PB! We also welcomed back our friends from Maidstone who visited us shortly after we began in 2016.
We had a total of 32 participants, both runners and walkers and together we enjoyed the perfect parkrun conditions. The SteMag bar graciously provides us with Brioche each Saturday where we finish the morning with our parkrun friends!
Happy parkrunning

parkrun #166

Summer is here and so are our tourists. We welcomed visitors from England and Australia, we had lots of children and our parkrun founder, Paul Sinton-Hewitt and his wife Jo visited us again! The weather was perfect and we had over 50 participants; a new record for us. The perfect morning was finished off with coffee and brioche for everyone at our local cafe.
We hope to welcome you too soon to our beautiful parkrun at Chateau de Pierre de Bresse!
Happy parkrunning!

parkrun #164

What a wonderful surprise at our parkrun last week; the founder of parkrun Paul Sinton-Hewitt showed up! He and his wife Joanne were following the Tour de France with friends Ian & Caroline and decided to visit. We were also very proud to see that our Chateau featured on the news coverage of the Tour. We broke our record for attendance with 50 parkrunners- walking and running. We welcomed tourists from England, Australia and New Zealand. Thank you to all our vounteers!!IMG_1682

parkrun #163

Last Saturday we celebrated our 3rd birthday- how quickly the time has passed!! We have an amazing bunch of volunteers who give up their time each Saturday to make sure that our parkrun continues- we are forever grateful to them- Richard our event director, Georges, Manou, Nathalie & Herve, Veronique and others!! Our Mayor, Claudette Jaillet presented Georges with a special certificate, acknowledging his volunteering on the stopwatch more than 130 times- he and Chantal travel nearly 100km each week to be at our parkrun!!!
Michel also completed his 100th parkrun. We celebrated our birthday with a lunch afterwards!
Hope to see you soon and happy parkrunning!

We had the perfect weather for our parkrun and so alot of personal best times. Great work- Laurent, Anton, Clementine, Diane, Lucie et Michelle! We welcomed tourists from England-Leeds, York and Manchester, as well as tourists from New Zealand and Australia. We were also visited by Diane Jeffrey, who is planning to start the next French parkrun in Lyon later this year. We are all looking forward to having another parkrun in France.
On June 29th, our parkrun will also coincide with a celebration of Napolean's visit to the Chateau, so come along to experience this unique event.IMG_0880IMG_0881IMG_0860IMG_0835IMG_0851IMG_0917IMG_0862IMG_0874

parkrun #157

The sun returned and we had a spectacular parkrun last Saturday with 22 participants. We welcomed Georgina & Michael from Australia and Richard & Chandelle from England.
Harry, the Swiss achieved a personal best time and Agnes was happy because she was no longer in absence.....
As per our habit, we stayed on for an hour after our efforts to enjoy coffee and brioche together. We have already passed our 3 years of parkrun and we will be celebrating our birthday in the future when everyone is here. Watch our facebook page for further details!
We are forever grateful to our ever loyal volunteers who keep our parkrun going!IMG_0671

Last week was an exceptional parkrun for us- Anne-Sophie Menu became our first parkrunner to achieve 100 parkruns in France and we also celebrated "Movember".
Anne-Sophie has only missed 30 of our 130 parkruns and is one of our most loyal parkrunners. Congratulations Anne-Sophie!
As part of the initiative, 'Movember", we all wore a moustache to show support for research to cure the cancers that affect men. Thank you Thomas leading this event and thank you all parkrunners for your strong support. Perhaps 'parkrun France' can take this on next year.
